The baby is now starting the fetal period, where his or her organs and tissues grow and mature very rapidly. He or she is about an inch and a quarter long and weighs under a quarter of an ounce.
He or she now has a liver, a brain, intestines, and two kidneys are all working within the body but still need to continue developing. His or her liver is even making red blood cells. His or her fingers and toes are no longer webbed and have nails on them. In addition, he or she even has peach-fuzz hair on his or her body.
He or she can now bend their limbs so his or her hands are bend at the wrists to touch over the heart. The feet similar bend to touch. You can see his or her spine and it's nerves are forming. The forehead bulges from the brain so it sits high on the head.
He or she also now has unique fingerprints, eyes that can roll reflexively, and buds that are forming to later become adult teeth. Finally, the bones are starting to solidify inside him or her.
